MIM studio uses a high density, high performance custom concrete mix which is resistant to weathering. As concrete is a composite material, each piece will be slightly different in terms of colour and texture and pores. Also over time concrete products will undergo slight efflorescence . This natural occurrence can be mitigated by frequent use. Furthermore in time concrete items do become darker as they interact with moisture and air. We use Reclaimed Teak wood for all our products, so certain features of its earlier use will be visible. The wood has been finished with linseed oil. The metal used in cufflinks is Sterling silver (925 Grade).

Avoid storing our products in humid or wet environments since water will penetrate the pores of the concrete and stain. Although we use dense mix concrete, chipping is possible if dropped or when the product makes contact with certain hard surfaces. To avoid chipping please handle the product with care and place them on soft surfaces. Our Concrete items do not require any special maintenance. Dry dusting if required with clean fibre cloth or a soft brush. For Cufflinks we have used Silver which oxidises over time, so necessary care to be taken.

All our products usually ship within 7 days of placing the order. If you need quicker delivery, Please feel free to contact us on:

“Amalfi” is a sculptural journey: a kinetic ball installation that transforms your wall into a living, architectural landscape. Inspired by the textured, dreamlike sketches of M. C. Escher; who once drew the very hills of his birthplace, Amalfi captures the graceful curves of undulating terrain and the poetic geometry of hilly architecture.

The balls begin their journey at the top that hints at cliffs and winding hill paths. As they move, they follow a zigzag route inspired by Amalfi’s narrow lanes that cut through the slopes. Along the way, they pass through cave-like openings, glide along ledges, slip past cliff-style elements, and finally flow into open spaces.

Each movement is rhythmic and resonates the soft click of brass, the whisper of momentum, the gentle ring as the ball meets another surface. Over time, the wall becomes more than a backdrop: it is a stage for an ever-unfolding conversation of form, shadow, and motion.

“Amalfi” is at once a game and a meditation: playful, yet architectural; mechanical, yet poetic. It invites you to pause, to watch, and to reflect, turning a static wall into a living composition of motion inspired by Escher’s visions and the timeless beauty of the Amalfi coast.

So let the journey begin. Set the balls in motion and watch the landscape come alive.

Simply brilliant! MiM Studio continues to impress me. Intentional design is evident in every aspect of this chess set, down to the gold-embossed black inner box w its custom-cut foam bedding for each piece. The stylized pieces are spectacular, particularly the rook knight & bishop. A perfect combination of refined geometry and the slight textured irregularity inherent to concrete. Simply WOW.

I bought two pendants from Materiallmmaterial as gifts for my mother and my aunt. They are absolutely gorgeous. They are weighty, but not too heavy. Intricate, but solid. I love them. They arrived very quickly, and were beautifully packaged. I look forward to buying one for myself!

"The Factory" is far more impressive, far more substantial, and far more majestic than the photos would ever demonstrate. It's perfect for my office; small enough to not overwhelm, yet intriguing enough to be a unique conversation piece. I also have to mention the packing. This was wrapped incredibly well, and would easily survive even the roughest transport. This is way beyond what I was hoping for, I would highly endorse both this item and this seller.
